Welcome to AfC Virtual School
AfC Virtual School supports the education of all children with a social worker — including Children Looked After (CLA), Previously Looked After Children, children in Kinship Care, Children in Need, those on Child Protection Plans, and Care Leavers — across the boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, and Windsor & Maidenhead.
Virtual Schools exist nationally to champion the education of children with a social worker and to support a wide range of partners, including schools, social care teams, and carers. Virtual School Headteachers are responsible for ensuring that the educational achievement of these children is recognised and prioritised by all those involved in promoting their welfare.
When it comes to our Children Looked After, AfC Virtual School monitors the educational progress of all children in care from Kingston, Richmond, and Windsor & Maidenhead — whether they attend school within the borough or elsewhere.
Virtual Schools exist to champion the education of children with a social worker, including those who are currently in care, previously looked after, in kinship care, on child protection or child in need plans, and care leavers.
